The Presidential Election Appeals that have been sent to the Special Court of Appeal for the Presidential Election of Nigeria in Abuja have begun to be heard.
During the session, the court heard and looked into 3 cases. The Action Alliance party's case was turned down after the party asked to drop the case it had filed with the court and move the hearings to May 10th.
Judge Haruna Simon Sammani, who is in charge of presidential election cases at the High Court of Appeal of Nigeria in Abuja, ruled that the Action Alliance party's case should be thrown out. This came after the lawyer for the party asked the court on Monday to drop the case.
Barrister Dauda AbdulMaleek Usman is one of the lawyers who went to court for the Action Alliance party. He said that they dropped their case because they didn't respect the decisions of two lower courts made by the electoral commission after they sent them a letter about the party's leader.
Later, after all the defendants in court agreed and the A.A side, which included INEC, APC, and others, asked for the case to be dropped in its entirety, Justice Sammani made the decision.
