The US Embassy officials who were kidnapped in Nigeria were rescued
The Nigerian Police Force in Anambra State said it has successfully rescued two people who were kidnapped in an attack on a team of US Embassy staff in Nigeria, in Anambra State.
In a statement issued on Friday, the spokesperson of the police force in the state, Ikenga Tochukwu said that the two men were rescued without any injuries.
However, he did not reveal the names of those rescued.
The statement went on to say that the security forces are continuing to investigate the matter in order to get detailed information.
On Tuesday, some gunmen attacked the vehicles carrying the peacekeeping workers, killing seven people, including three workers.
The attackers also took some of the workers and burned the vehicles.
