Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State in Nigeria, has disapproved of the system for dividing up the federal council leadership seats that were endorsed by his party, the APC, and the country's elected president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The APC has endorsed the campaigns of Tajudeen Abas for Speaker of the House and Senator Godswill Akpabio for President of the Senate, both with Senator Barau Jibrin as their running mate.
Rotimi Akeredolu argued that it is regrettable that only the northwest zone has a seat in the parliament, while other regions have none.
According to the governor, the initial procedure of presenting these individuals as leaders without due research and the extensive study was flawed, and the other applicants for leadership positions were turned down without requesting sub-A's consent.
