We will establish a staff training center, said Abba Gida-Gida

The Governor-elect of Kano State, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said that his government will be committed to reforming government departments in an effort to strengthen the system of providing quality services.

Abba Kabir who is known as Abba Gida-Gida, stated that, "as in our plan, we will establish a Training Center for Government Employees to match the best practices in the world."

This is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary General of Kano Governor-elect, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

The Governor-elect congratulated the employees of the government and private companies in the state on Labor Day 2023.

He said that workers are the core of good governance in any democratic system, so they deserve to be praised for the sacrifices they make in carrying out their work.

Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf assured the employees of the state that they will get better welfare including speedy payment of salaries and pensions from the incoming NNPP government.

Engineer Abba said that the incoming government is aware of the problems faced by state employees, including poor working conditions, insufficient staff and other problems and he has promised to fix them.

The Governor-elect said that his government will review all the inappropriate activities and ensure that there is a proper recruitment process for all citizens of Kano State who are qualified to join the government service.

"Regarding the brutality and bias in the field of recruitment by the outgoing government, this is also an area that needs our attention."

The Governor-elect left government service more than 10 years ago, after spending more than 20 years working in various positions, especially in the Kano State Water Ministry.
