12 students fainted at the same time in Mozambique

In the north of Mozambique, about a dozen students passed out at the same time while learning.

Pemba High School in the province of Cabo Delgado stated that girls are more likely to get sick with fever on Wednesday, when school is in session.

Officials said that the victims had signs like those of people with epilepsy.

They also said that all of the kids have now gotten better and are in good health.

Edson Fernando, the province's top doctor, said that the case might be caused by a type of headache that makes people feel confused.

This is not the first time that kids have passed out in schools in Mozambique. Similar things happened in 2010 and 2018 in the south of the country.

Researchers in traditional medicine, psychology, and sociology have all been asked to look into the subject.
