156 pilgrims will be unable to leave Kano State for Hajj in 2023.

According to the Kano State Pilgrim Welfare Board, the amount of Hajj chairs sold by the fired employees has prevented 156 pilgrims from performing the hajj this year.

Kano State received 6,144 seats from the National Pilgrims Commission, but the commission sold 156 additional seats.

Alhaji Laminu Rabiu, the agency's director general, said this in a media interview in Kano.

Once this year's Hajj is over, he stated, the prior officials would be looked into and put on trial.

The injured men were urged by Rabi'u to be patient and assured that they would receive proper care during the approaching hajj.
