Bayero University Explains The Reasons Why They Raised School Fees
She went to school and told them that the price hike has nothing to do with taking away fuel handouts or giving out student loans.
If you don't remember, the acting dean of the university, Amina Umar Abdullahi, wrote in the magazine that the school puts out that the school fee will go up by 100% for both undergraduate and graduate students.
During an interview with Arewa Radio, the university's spokeswoman, Lamara Garba, said that the increase in school fees was because the current government told higher education institutions in the country to look for ways to make money.
But he said that even though school fees went up, it was still a big deal for kids.
Students in medicine and other science courses will have to pay 170 thousand naira for new students and 160 thousand naira for current students. Other social courses, like law and Islamic studies, will cost 97 thousand naira for current students and 105 thousand naira for new students.
