Blinken continues to visit China
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken began his official tour in Beijing, China with the goal of bridging the divide between the two nations.
The US and China have once again resumed direct talks in Beijing after months of discussions and allegations. The merits of the discussions between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his Chinese counterpart Qin Gang, however, are disputed.
According to CCTV, the ties between the US and China are at their lowest point since diplomatic ties were established. The American delegation, for its part, credited the conversation with being "useful and full of truth" following the meeting. The two countries foreign ministers have yet to comment on what they talked about.
China and the United States are at odds over a number of topics, including Taiwan, which Beijing claims is a part of its territory, as well as other instances including a scientific and technical crisis and persecution of China's Uighur Muslim minority.
