In Somalia, fighting has killed at least 36 people in Puntland state and Lower Shabellebiyu area.

Doctors say that at least 26 people were killed in a fierce fight on Tuesday in Garowe, which is the capital of Puntland state.

While 10 other people died when bombs set off by remote control went off in a village southwest of Somalia's city, Mogadishu.

Witnesses said that many people died in the first explosion and that the second bomb went off when civilians and troops went to the area to help.
