Saudi Arabia will return 10,000 new tents to Nigerian pilgrims

Due to complaints about the inadequate number of tents available for pilgrims, Saudi Arabian authorities have finished arrangements to shift 10,000 Nigerian pilgrims to a location in Mina.

The Pilgrims Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) said in a statement on Tuesday that the new approach was put into place following consultations with Muttawwif authorities, who are in charge of the welfare of non-Arab African pilgrims in the kingdom.

According to the Daily Trust, pilgrims from Nigeria who are performing the Hajj this year are at a loss for things to do in Mina, where they stay before travelling to Mount Arafat.

According to Mousa Ubandawaki, a NAHCON official, the decision was made in response to concerns made to the Muttawwif over the lack of food and the delay in feeding the pilgrims.

Muttawwif pledged to bring the pilgrims back to the Turkish stadium, which can easily hold about 10,000 people, while displaying patience for what occurred to the Nigerian travellers.

Ubandawaki claimed that Ahmad Sindhi, chairman of the Muttawif Company, had shown patience with the difficulties that Nigerian pilgrims had to confront.
