The Kano Government has launched a law against phone hijackers
Kano State's government has declared a state of emergency because phones are being taken away and other crimes are happening in the city.
The state assembly is worried about problems like phones being taken away and people taking drugs on purpose, as well as other crimes that threaten the peace of the state.
During a conversation led by the majority leader of the parliament, all of the members agreed that the problem needs to be fixed quickly before it gets worse.
The National Assembly also passed a motion asking the state government to punish those who were found to be guilty in any way possible.
Phone theft has become popular in Kano, and some people have died and others have been hurt because of it.
