The Nigerian Defense Ministry has given some senior soldiers until Monday to retire

Senior soldiers who have successfully finished the 39th course of the military training academy have been ordered by the Nigerian Defence Force to resign voluntarily.

After new security chiefs were selected by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the action was taken.

This information is provided in a statement signed by Major General Y. Yahaya on behalf of the nation's top security official.

"I have been ordered to demand that all senior soldiers who are above the 39th course of the training school for senior military officers of the country, immediately hand over their resignation papers voluntarily," the statement read.

Additionally, employees who are impacted by the directive must deliver their documentation to the security organisations they work for by Monday, July 3, 2023.

Senior officers are not supposed to follow commands from senior soldiers in the military.

As a result, the president's selection of new security chiefs will result in the termination of roughly 100 senior soldiers.

Generals, brigadier generals, air vice marshals, and admirals of the navy and air force are among those in question.

Major General Christopher Musa, the new head of national security, is enrolled in the 38th course of the school for senior security officers, while the other leaders of the army, air force, and navy are enrolled in the 39th course.
