There are rumors regarding how many people have died in India from excessive heat.
Authorities in the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India are looking into fatalities caused by excessive heat.
68 persons were confirmed dead between Thursday and Sunday in the Ballia area, which is located 274 kilometers (170 miles) from Lucknow, the state capital.
