the new acting head of the EFCC
So far, there has been no talk of taking Abulrasheed Bawa's job as head of the EFCC away from him because of the accusations of betrayal of office.
In a statement made last Wednesday night by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), President Bola Tinubu said that he agreed with the suspension and that the EFCC's Director of Operations has been asked to lead the agency.
What you should know about the EFCC's acting head
Abdulkarim Chukkol, who was in charge of operations and is now the acting head of the EFCC, took over running the agency right away.
Chukkol took over Mohammed Abba's job as the agency's head of operations after Ibrahim Magu was fired. Abba had been acting director since Magu was fired.
Chukkol went to the University of Maiduguri and got a Bachelor of Science in 2000. He then went to the University of Virginia in the United States and got a Diploma in Law in 2011.
He also has a Certificate in Internet Security and Spectrum Management.
He started working for the EFCC in 2003 and soon became the head of investigations and the director of operations.
Chukkol is on stage at the International Studies School at Quantico, which is run by the FBI.
Before he was moved to the headquarters in Abuja, he was in charge of the EFCC's Port region office.
