Tinubu Will Meet With Elected Senators Tomorrow Thursday
Tomorrow, Thursday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will meet with chosen senators and House of Representatives members to talk about who will be president of the Federal Assembly of Nigeria.
The meeting was announced in a letter that was sent to the House and read by Ovie Omo-Agege, who was in charge of the meeting on Wednesday.
The letter says, "I am writing to invite all elected senators and members of the House of Representatives to the Government House on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m."
Even though the letter didn't say why they were invited, sources said that the meeting wouldn't have anything to do with running the 10th Parliament.
In the past, the APC has accepted Godswill Akpabio, the former governor of Akwa Ibom state, and Barau Jibrin, the senator for Kano North, as the president of the senate and his vice president.
The party chose Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Ben Kalu to be the speaker of the House of Representatives and his deputy, respectively.
But Abdulaziz Yari, the former governor of Zamfara state, has joined forces with Orji Kalu, the floor leader of the Senate, Osita Izunaso, and Senator Sani Musa to rebel against the party's election.
