Turkish Airlines is celebrating its 90th anniversary

The airline has 80,000 workers, and in 1947, it sent its first flight from Ankara or Istanbul to Athens.

Turkish Airlines is "the airline that flies to more countries than any other airline in the world." It will be 90 years old in 2023.

The State Airlines Administration started flying on May 20, 1933, with 30 workers and five 28-seat planes. The first Turkish pilot, Fesa Evrensev, was in charge of the launch.

In 1947, the airline's first trip went from Ankara or Istanbul to Athens.

At the moment, the plane goes to 344 places in 129 countries across five continents. The company has a total of 82,000 workers, and 418 Turkish-flagged planes fly all over the world.
