Zamfara Governor Calls for Unity on the New Members of the State Assembly
Dauda Lawal, the governor of Zamfara State, has asked the new members of the state government to work together to make sure their projects are successful.
Lawal made this request to the new members of parliament on Tuesday, when he met with them at the state government building.
As required by Nigeria's constitution, the State House of Assembly started its seventh presidential session and chose its leaders yesterday.
For the seventh time, the Speaker of the Parliament will be Honorable Bilyaminu Ibrahim Moriki (Zurmi North).
He told the members of parliament to keep a good relationship with the government's executive arm.
Governor Lawal said, "I want to take this chance to congratulate the 24 people who were sworn in today as members of parliament."
"Also, Zamfara has a lot of problems, such as a lack of security, problems in schooling and business, and so on.
"Now that politics are over, Zamfara State needs to work together to move forward."
Earlier, the speaker of the parliament said that the members of the parliament would give the administrative branch their full support and help the state grow.
