29-year-old chef bags one-month imprisonment for stealing three cartons of noddles in Abuja

Moses Ibor, a cook who is 29 years old, was given a one-month prison term for stealing three boxes of Indomie instant noodles.

against Monday, July 24, 2023, a Dei-Dei Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja passed judgment against him.

The offender was given the option of paying a N10,000 fine by Judge Saminu Suleiman, who also issued a warning to stop committing crimes.

Earlier, Mr. Chinedu Ogada, the prosecutor, informed the court that the incident was reported to the Dutse Alhaji police station on July 10 by the complainant, Mr. Bashir Umar of Olajumoke Market Dutse Alhaji in Abuja.

Ogada claimed that on the same day, when the complainant was inside his store, the convict broke in and stole three cartons of super pack indomie instant noodles, which were worth N 21,000 at the time.

He claimed that the offender was apprehended as he attempted to flee with the stolen noodles and was then turned over to the police for a thorough investigation.

The three boxes of super pack instant noodles were found on the defendant, the prosecution claimed, adding that the offense violated Section 288 of the Penal Code.
