A court in the UK acquitted the French player Mendy of sexual assault

Benjamin Mendy, a former player for Manchester City, was cleared by a UK court of the charges of attempted murder and rape against another lady.

At his residence in Mottram St. Andrew, Cheshire, in October 2020, the 28-year-old male is alleged to have attempted to assault a 24-year-old lady.

A 29-year-old woman, who said that Mr. Mendy had also sexually attacked her in his home two years prior, is also accused of trying to rape him.

He was previously found not guilty on all six counts of rape at a trial that took place earlier in January.

The jury returned a not guilty verdict after a three-week trial at Chester Crown Court, and the French international sobbed as they heard the verdict.
