Abandoning the grain export agreement with Russia was deliberate - Macron

Russian President Vladimir Putin withdrew from the grain agreement it reached with Ukraine, which French President Emmanuel Macron called a grave error.

Macron, who is speaking following the summit between Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean, claimed that Putin did this in order to turn food into a weapon and that Russia has withdrawn directly from the nations that depend on obtaining this grain.

According to information, the suspension of this agreement has already resulted in a rise in grain prices in some regions of Europe.

Additionally, while he was charged with overseeing and providing guidance on how to gather data and advance the research industry and its technologies, President Macron criticised the attempt to hire an American lady with extensive experience in the scientific field.

Although he has the utmost regard for Professor Fiona Scott Morton of Yale University, Macron claimed that there aren't many Asian Europeans capable of performing the duties for which she was employed.
