Alleged Blasphemy: Davido Deletes His Music Video

After his son, Logos Olori, experienced persecution on social media, popular artist David Adeleke, often known as Davido, withdrew the video of the song that sparked controversy on social media.

On social media on Saturday, Davido received criticism and abuse from a large number of Muslim groups for including pictures of a place of worship in the music video he intends to release soon.

In the music video for the song, he depicted a group of guys praying as they were all dressed in white robes. When the singer began to sing, the men were still in the middle of their prayers when the dance floor and singing took over.

By fusing music and dancing with religious rituals, the singer was accused by the Muslim community of insulting Islam.

They also requested that he apologise and remove the video.

Ali Nuhu and Bashir Ahmad, two well-known Nigerians, have all criticised the musician for disrespecting Islam.
