APC crisis: Abdullahi Adamu's seat is falling

The destiny of Abdullahi Adamu, the party's national chairman, is unknown prior to the APC national executive committee meeting, which is set for July 18 and 19.

As it previously did to Adams Oshiomhole, the former party leader.

Adamu, who was elected the National Chairman of the APC during the rally of a national meeting of the party and the transitional committee organised by the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, at "Eagles Square" in Abuja in March 2022, is under pressure to resign because of his accusations of forcibly syphoning off party funds.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari endorsed the former governor of Nasarawa State, Adamu, and other candidates for the party's leadership position were urged to distance themselves from him.

However, he faced challenges at the start of his four-year term as the party's chairman, at the same time that several

Adamu met with state leaders of the party in Abuja because it is thought that the executive committee of the national party, which is the second largest in the party, may back him due to various charges involving money and other things.

Before the National Executive Committee meeting, the party leader held a meeting at the APC National Party headquarters to solicit support from the party leaders in the states.

If you'll recall, the APC's state leaders are all part of the executive committee and have the ability to vote against the president.

"No one knows what will happen," a member of the APC national party who wished to remain unnamed remarked. There are many who dislike Adamu's management style as well as those who encourage division and instability within the party.

"Adamu did not back Tinubu at the time, but we were able to defeat him because we won the election, and now is the moment to bring the party together as well as the nation as a whole.

"Tinubu is not considering terminating Adamu at this time because it is too soon. If Adam continues to feel pressurised, he might decide to give up.

Adamu is powerless to intervene if Tinubu decides to manage the party's affairs. Adamu can only obey Tinubu if he chose to report to the party's leadership. There won't be a dispute to impeach Adam as a result.

According to a different source, Tinubu would not have chosen Senator George Akume, the former governor of Benue State, to serve as the secretary to the federal government if Adamu had been put on trial for impeachment.

The insider further stated that Adamu won't be dismissed at this time given Akume's appointment.

She declared: "Politics is math." You can succeed and fail at times.

"Look at the fact that Akume would have been named the National Chairman of the APC if Adamu had been impeached at the party's executive committee meeting if he hadn't been nominated as the Secretary to the Federal Government.

"Only the President can impeach him or resign," the speaker said. The president has the authority to bring the executive committee members to a vote against if necessary.

If memory serves, Salihu Mohammed Lukman, the national deputy chairman of the party in the North West Region, asked Adamu to step down so that a Christian could take over the party's leadership.

Alphonsus Oga, the acting secretary of the APC leadership group, and Adamu's party chairman in Kuros Riba State announced in a press conference following their meeting that they had been called to hold the meeting by the APC party's national management committee.

He denied that any internal struggle inside the party was the cause of the postponement of the executive committee meeting.

As you are aware, we have not had the chance to meet with our national president, party management committee members, or other leaders since we won the election.

We had the chance to attend the meeting that the party management committee had arranged, and we are pleased to let you know that it is a chance for the state leaders of the APC party to congratulate the party's head. Senator Abdullahi Adamu of our honourable party and his staff are dedicated to the challenging work they are performing.

Oga responded, "This is a time of rumours and gossip that will escalate, but the APC party is unified, and We convened again to support our national president and members of the board of directors. When questioned if the executive committee meeting had been postponed due to the new situation that had arisen.

President Tinubu was urged to strengthen the party by Adamu, who spoke at the beginning of the meeting.

He declared, "We hope and pray that the honourable President will work hand in hand with us to strengthen the relationship of the Party in the States and the Whole Country to Have a New Government in the Future."

These are the key objectives we want to accomplish.
