 Application Portal for the Pan African University (PAU) Scholarship 2023/2024: How to Apply


This is to let the general public know that the PAU Scholarship Portal is still open for interested individuals to apply for the current program. The PAU Scholarship program's prerequisites for eligibility are listed below. Before applying for the program, take notice of the prerequisites. Don't miss out on this fantastic chance. There is no stated deadline for applications.

How to Apply for a PAU Scholarship at Pan African University

Scholarship at PAU is Generally Acceptable

1. An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with at least a second-class upper division from an accredited university;

2. certified copies of pertinent diplomas and transcripts (from high school and university), 3. a national passport with a personal information page, 4. a clear, colored passport photo (2 cm x 2 cm), and detailed resume;

5. Letters of recommendation from two professors

6. A motivational letter outlining your goals for attending Pan African University;

7. Applicants must be at least 30 years old for men and 35 years old for women.

8. After preselection, candidates might have to take a written or oral test.

9. Candidates for the Master in Conference Interpreting and Translation programs must be fluent in at least two of the Arabic, English, French, or Portuguese official languages of the African Union.

Doctoral Program Requirements for Admission

Candidates must meet the requirements listed below:

a master's degree in a relevant discipline from PAU or another university with international acclaim;

certified copies of all necessary documents, including transcripts and passport pages with personal information;

A 3–4 page study idea note that includes the following information: a tentative title, research questions, aims, significance of the research, etc.

Two Professors' Letters of Recommendation

a detailed CV; a clear, colored passport photo (2 cm x 2 cm).

a motivational letter outlining your goals for attending Pan African University;

Both male and female applicants must be 35 years of age or older.

Following preselection, candidates can be asked to take a written/oral test.

Candidates for the Master in Conference Interpreting and Translation programs must be fluent in at least two of the four official languages of the African Union (Arabic, English, French, and Portuguese).


Admission Requirements for Doctoral Programs with PAU Scholarships

Candidates must meet the requirements listed below:

a master's degree in a relevant discipline from PAU or another university with international acclaim;

certified copies of the appropriate diplomas, transcripts,

a copy of the passport's personal information page;

A 3–4 page study idea note that includes the following information: a tentative title, research questions, aims, significance of the research, etc.

a clear, colorful passport photo (2 cm by 2 cm);

CV in-depth

a motivational letter outlining your goals for attending Pan African University;

Male applicants must be 35 years old, while female applicants must be 40 years old.

Successful African candidates will get full scholarships from the African Union Commission.


How to Apply

 for MSc/PhD Pan African University Scholarships First, go to the PAU Scholarship Application Portal at https://www.au-pau.org/submission/.

Click 'Register' after reading the terms.

Provide a valid username and email address. Check your inbox to confirm the registration by clicking on the confirmation link. Please also check your spam folders. Provide a valid password. Log in. Open the "Application" page. Enter all of your information. Click the Save button. Finally, click the Finish button.

Note: You can return later and "Login" again with your email and password if you didn't finish the application.



Attention All PAU Scholarship Applicants: Important Notice

1. According to the scholarship agreement, PAU students must:

2. After successfully completing their studies, make a commitment to serve any African Union Member State for a length of time equivalent to at least the tenure of the scholarship.

In order to avoid conflict with their academic curriculum, they should not be allowed to engage in any illegal activity.

4. The PAU Rectorate must also accept student participation in income-generating activities if they won't conflict with their academic program.

5. Each PAU institute will make sure that the money used to provide stipends is used to support students' health insurance. For all qualified candidates accepted into any of its institutes, the PAU awards full scholarships, which cover both living costs and tuition.
