BREAKING: Two kidnapped as gunmen launch fresh attack in Abuja

Gunmen have kidnapped a total of two persons as retaliation for the Mpape suburb of Abuja.

According to accounts, the gunmen stormed the area early on Sunday, July 16, 2023, and took two people prisoner.

According to a local who identified himself only as Yakubu to our reporter, there were approximately six gunmen.

"A group of six gunmen entered our neighborhood around 1 am today, and while conducting their operation, they kidnapped two people," he said.

SP The incident was confirmed by Josephine Adeh, a spokeswoman for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police department.

After the police have withdrawn their involvement, the victims will be reunited with their family members, she continued.  

Adah claims that the suspects are still being sought for.  

"Our soldiers from Mpape and the tactical command team responded promptly," she said. 

They exerted pressure on the criminals, which led to their flight with the victims. They would soon return to being with their loved ones. We are looking for the suspects as well.
