Commonwealth Split-site PhD Scholarships for 2023
Applicants who are interested can now apply for the 2023 Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships for Commonwealth nations.
Aimed toward those who would not otherwise be able to afford to study in the UK, Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships are financed by the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). They provide exceptional and motivated students with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable development.
They provide Commonwealth University PhD candidates the chance to conduct a year of research at a UK institution. Under six CSC Development themes, Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships are available.
The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2019, and all submissions must be accompanied by a valid credit card.
Commonwealth Split-Site Scholarships Theme
These scholarships are provided in six categories:
Access, inclusiveness, and opportunity; strengthening health systems and capacity; promoting global prosperity; enhancing global peace, security, and governance; strengthening resilience and responsiveness to crises; and
Scholarships from the Commonwealth for Two-Sites Eligibility
Students should:
Be a British Protected Person, a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country, or have received refugee status from that country.
Be a permanent resident of a country that is eligible for membership in the Commonwealth.
By the time your Scholarship begins (September 2023), you must be enrolled in a PhD programme at a university in an eligible Commonwealth country.

Commonwealth Split-Site Scholarships Value
Each award comes with:
1, Approved airfare from your country of origin to the UK and back at the conclusion of your award (the CSC will not cover the cost of dependants' flights or travel expenses incurred before your award is confirmed).
2. Approved tuition fees: Under an agreement between the CSC and the UK university, all fees are covered, and Scholars are not required to pay any portion of the tuition.
3. A monthly stipend (living allowance) of £1,236 (or £1,516 for students attending universities in the Greater London Area; rates quoted at current levels).
4. Where applicable, a warm clothing allowance
5. Study travel grant to help with the cost of studying abroad or in the UK
6. provided you are widowed, divorced, or a single parent, you are eligible for a child allowance of £529 for the first child and £131 for each additional kid under the age of 16 provided they are living with you.

The following selection factors will be taken into consideration when reviewing applications:
1. Academic standing of the applicant
2. The standard of the study proposal
3. Potential effects on the candidate's native country's development
The Commonwealth Split-Site PhD Scholarship Application Process
Candidates are prompted to: on the application form (click here for the form).
List all of your university degrees, both undergraduate and graduate.
1. List no more than ten publications and awards
2. Describe your previous employment history in detail and explain how each position relates to the UK-based program.
3. Explain how prior employment is relevant to the proposed Scholarship in your statement.
4. Provide the names and positions of three referees who can remark on the applicant's abilities to take advantage of the proposed Scholarship in the UK and to make a lasting contribution to development afterward. If applicable, one of your referees must be your present employer.
5. Outline the development impact in four components.
