Don Jazzy The music mogul says why he didn't sign Wizkid and Davido.
Michael Collins Ajereh, better known by his stage name Don Jazzy, explains in a recent statement why he didn't sign Wizkid and Davido to his now-defunct record label Mo'hits.
This was said by Don Jazzy, the head of the Mavin Record label, while he was a guest on Fisayo Fosudo's Leaderboard show.
Don Jazzy said that he couldn't sign Wizkid because the CEO of EME Records, singer Banky W, had already signed the Starboy.
Don Baba J said that he could have signed Davido but didn't because he thought Davido would do well on his own without the help of a record label.
Don Jazzy also said that he was sorry he didn't sign Simi and Teni. He said that he was almost able to sign rapper Falz The Bad Guy, but the deal didn't work out.
In his words; "I like Simi, I didn't sign her. I really want to. I like Teni, but I didn't sign her. I really want to. I could have signed Davido, but I decided not to because I thought he would be fine. Wizkid, I couldn't because Banky W got to him before I did. That would have been really cool. Falz, I like what he does. We were almost in agreement."
