DSS Should Invite Davido - MURIC

Following online criticism, Davido already deleted the video from his social media profiles.

Because of a video David Adeleke, also known as Davido, released that was denounced by the nation's Muslim population, the organisation in Nigeria that defends Muslim rights, MURIC, has requested that the DSS invite him.

This was said in a statement made by Prof. Ishaq Akintola, Director General of MURIC, on Monday in Abuja, according to the Daily Trust newspaper.

Last weekend, Davido released a song by a new singer named Logos Olori. In the song, some women wearing hijabs can be seen praying and then dancing. Muslims saw this as an affront to their religion.

In the video, Olori can be seen dancing while sitting atop a mosque while performing his song "Jaye Lo," which was released by Davido.

"We are pleading with the DSS officials to call the two men (Davido and Olori) and ask them why they made this potentially troublesome video for Nigeria." remarked Professor Akintola.

The NBC News and Film Censor Board (NFVCB), according to MURIC, should "ban this video of the song 'Jaye Lo' by Logos Olori."

After receiving criticism on social media, Davido later took the video off from his social media profiles.

Actor Ali Nuhu and Bashir Ahmad, a former social media adviser to former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, are two well-known figures who have criticised Davido.
