Former Ganduje's commissioner and others have been arrested in Kano on charges of N1 billion fraud.
Idris Wada Saleh, the former governor Abdullahi Ganduje's commissioner for works and infrastructure, and five other people have been arrested and held by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission over an alleged N1 billion fraud.
Daily Post says that the commissioner, along with Mustapha Madaki Huguma, the permanent secretary of the Public Procurement Bureau, the director of finance, and the head of research and planning, were all arrested on Monday evening.
They were accused of taking out about N1 billion to pay for 30 unfinished projects to fix roads and drains.
It was learned that the money, which was taken out in three parts, was put into the bank accounts of three companies in April 2023.

Ltd, Arfat Multiresources Ltd, and 1st Step Construction Ltd are the companies.Even though it was against the Kano State Procurement Act 2021, the Public Procurement Bureau gave a certificate of no objection for the contract after the payment was made ten days earlier.
"The companies are fake because their letterheads are almost the same and they don't have a temporary office.
"A source who did not want to be named told the newspaper that the Due Process Office said the Certificate of No Objection was given because the Kano Road Maintenance Agency said the roads would be fixed by direct labor, but the papers said something different,"
Abba Kabir, a spokesperson for the Commission, also stated that those who were arrested are being questioned and will be brought before the court as soon as the investigation is done.
Remember that on June 21, 2023, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, brought back Muhuyi Magaji, the state head of the Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), who had been fired by Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor who came before him?
Magaji, a lawyer, was put on leave by the state House of Assembly, and Ganduje fired him in January.
But he took his firing to court, and the judge told him to go back to work.
