Gunmen Attacked the House of the Former Information Minister, Maku in Nasarawa
In the Ola neighbourhood of Akwanga local governmnt in Nasarawa state, some armed men who are thought to be kidnappers invaded the home of the former minister of information, Labaran Maku.
The attack by the criminals on Saturday left three of the security guards who were on duty to keep the residence secure gravely hurt.
One of the guards claimed that when the attackers attempted to enter the house, they were met with resistance by the guards.
He said, "They started shooting each other when they confirmed that they could not enter the house."
Later, when they learned that additional security officers had arrived from Akwanga to assist, the criminals escaped.
This is the third instance of this kind in a month, according to the former minister Labaran Maku, who confirmed the incident on Sunday.
He said that the police and military security personnel assisted in the rush to his home to apprehend the criminals.
If you recall, they broke into my father's Wakana home last month and abducted my three brothers. They murdered my three nephews at a different time. This incident demonstrates that only bandits live in our state.
Additionally, Abdullahi Sule, the state's governor, denounced the attack on the former minister's home.
The attack was regarded as a serious occurrence that they will not accept in a statement made on Sunday by his public relations manager, Mr. Peter Ahemba.
He claimed that the security forces had already been directed by the governor to find the perpetrators and ensure their prosecution.
He declared that his state's citizens' lives and property are important to his government. Later, he offered comfort to the former minister about this.
