JUST IN: A four-story building in Abuja has just collapsed, trapping many people inside.
After a four-story building fell at Life Camp, Jabi, in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, many people are now stuck.
On Monday, July 3, 2023, around 4 p.m., the building fell down while construction workers were working on it.
Eyewitnesses said that the building fell down while the concrete was being poured, not long after the engineer left the site.
Eyewitnesses say that the building fell down because it was built with low-quality materials and was in a swampy part of Dape near Berger Clinic.
Rescue efforts are going on, but as of press time, this newspaper heard that there wasn't enough equipment on the scene.
The relief team is already on the scene. It is made up of people from the FCT Fire Service, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the Nigerian police.
