Barrister Abdulrahman Tanko Ozi, a senatorial candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Kogi West constituency for the 2023 general election, has switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former SDP chieftain declared that he had dismantled his political apparatus and ordered his supporters to back Ahmed Ododo, the APC's nominee, in the state's governor election on November 11.

During a courtesy visit to the APC governorship candidate on Thursday in Lokoja, the former SDP senatorial candidate revealed this.

He claimed that his choice to back Ododo was the result of careful thought and analysis that showed the APC candidate to be qualified to lead the state and build on the accomplishments of Governor Yahaya Bello.

Ododo, the APC candidate for governor, welcomed Ozi to the party and pledged to build on the accomplishments of his mentor, Governor Yahaya Bello.

The APC candidate also stated that by leaving the SDP, the former leader had taken the best decision for the country.

He thus urged Kogites to support APC in large numbers in the governorship election on November 11 in order to keep the State on the path of development and national significance.

From 2007 to 2011, Ozi served as the minority leader for the Kogi Koton Karfe State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly.
