NEWS: "I printed my result from the JAMB portal," says a student who has been accused of forgery.

Ejikeme Mmesoma, a girl at Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra State, who was accused of inflating her UTME score, has spoken out.
In a statement released on Sunday, Fabian Benjamin, a spokesman for JAMB, said that the student who was praised for getting a score of 362, which was said to be the highest for the 2019 UTME, only got a score of 249.
Benjamin had said that the student changed the original result to get in good with the teacher.
After that, he said that the decision would be changed and that Mmesoma would be charged.
But on Monday, the student said that she had printed her result from the JAMB site and that she could not have made it up.
She said that she had always done well in school and had been in first place since she was in elementary school.
Mmesoma said she was asked to go to the police station, where her statement was taken and she was told that the investigation was still going on.
She said that the event had scared her and that "something must be wrong somewhere."
