Niger has fined some phone companies four billion CFA
Monday's news presentation by ARCEP president Mme Betty Aichatou Habibou Oumani confirmed this.
The Republic of Niger penalised four telecommunications firms over four billion CFA for failing to improve services in specific areas.
CELTEL NIGER MOOV, AFRICA NIGER, and ZAMANI TELE.COM are the companies.
Monday's news presentation by ARCEP president Mme Betty Aichatou Habibou Oumani confirmed this.
Since 2021, the head of ARCEP has called out corporations for failing to improve phone and internet connection.
The agency's specialists found that inadequate telephone communication is causing this problem in some cities in seven of the eight states.
In addition to fines, the ARCEP warned that any company that fails to fix its flaws may be suspended and have its licence revoked.
