Oil Prices: No Speed, No Pull Back on Range -NLC
The Nigerian Labour Union (NLC) has agreed to support the working committee's stance and would organise protests on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, all throughout the nation.
The endorsement of the stance comes two days after the federal government's peace committee summoned an urgent meeting with the Labour Union in Abuja regarding its intention to participate in the demonstration on Wednesday.
The group asserted that it supported the choice because it had studied and kept track of the social and economic circumstances, as well as the challenges that the workers and the rest of Nigeria's population face.
Comrades Joseph Ajaero, the organization's national president, and Emmanuel Ugboaja, the secretary general, both signed a speech following the meeting that stated they were "emphasising and supporting all the positions reached by the CWC meeting on July 25."
She continued by lamenting that the federal government's lack of care led to the implementation of various measures that increased the price of oil, demonstrating its incapability to effectively manage representation.
According to him, they have established committees in each state that would work with civil society organisations in this protest against the policies that have made life tough for Nigerians.
