Parliament has nominated Nyesom Wike as a minister
The Senate of Nigeria has begun vetting the people that President Bola Tinubu sent to it to seek its approval before appointing them as ministers.
The first among the 28 people whose names were sent, is Abubakar Momoh from Edo state.
As a former governor, Wike did not face tough questions before the Speaker of the House of Elders, Godswill Akpabio, demanded that he address the council, and he passed.
President Tinubu is expected to send more names, as the constitution of the country provides that each of the 36 states in the country will have at least one minister.
