Saudi Arabia detained 17,000 people who attempted Hajj without permission

17,615 persons who attempted to undertake the Hajj without permission have been apprehended and arrested by Saudi officials.

General Muhammad Al Bassami, the chairman of the security committee for this year's Hajj, was quoted in the Saudi Gazzet newspaper as saying that 9,509 of them were infringers of the nation's rules regarding work visas.

According to him, 33 people who were accused of guiding the populace without the government's consent were detained.

According to Al-Bassami, 202,999 persons who attempted to enter the nation illegally to do the Hajj have been jailed.

In addition, the national police received commendation from the head of the Hajj security committee for the bravery displayed throughout this outstanding effort, according to him.

According to Saudi law, anyone who resides in the nation must request permission from the government in order to do the Hajj.
