Saudi Arabia has detained more than 17,000 people who attempted Hajj without permission

17,615 persons who attempted to undertake the Hajj without permission were apprehended and arrested by Saudi officials.

According to Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al Bassami, who heads the security committee for this year's Hajj, 9,509 of them are those who have broken the country's norms for residency and work visas, as stated in the Saudi Gazette.

According to him, 33 people who were accused of guiding the populace without the government's consent were detained.

According to Al-Bassami, 202,999 persons who attempted to enter the nation illegally to perform the Hajj were also detained.

The commander of the security team for the Hajj praised the soldiers for their bravery in completing this crucial mission and for their professionalism.

According to Saudi law, anybody residing in the nation must request permission from the government in order to do the Hajj.
