Shettima paid a prayer visit to the Sultan

On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima visited the Sultan, His Highness Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar, for a prayer service.

The Vice President emphasised the need for the leaders of Northern Nigeria to collaborate in order to address the issues impacting the region when he landed in Sakkoto alongside the governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, and other politicians.

"Peace cannot exist in a violent environment, so regional leaders must ensure that they cooperate to bring about peace in the area," he said.

The honour and respect due traditional rulers would be bestowed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

The Sultan responded by admonishing Nigerians to cooperate in order to bring about peace and racial harmony.

He also urged Nigerians to be understanding and to give the new administration a chance, particularly with regard to the changes that must be made in order to see the effects of the new government policies.

Before going to the palace, the vice president had a private discussion with Governor Ahmed Aliyu in the government house.
