Super Falcons are traveling to Australia for a training tour ahead of the 2023 Women's World Cup.
The Super Falcons of Nigeria are traveling to Melbourne, Australia, for a pre-FIFA Women's World Cup training visit.
On Sunday night, the coaching staff and players fled the nation.
The Super Falcons will stay in Melbourne for 15 days to prepare for the competition by playing friendly matches.
The team of Randy Waldrum will participate in Group B alongside the Republic of Ireland, Canada, and Australia.
The Olympic champions Canada will play the nine-time African champs in Melbourne on July 21.
On Thursday, July 27 and Monday, July 31, the West Africans will compete against the co-hosts Australia and the Republic of Ireland at Lang Park in Brisbane.
The Super Falcons have participated in every FIFA Women's World Cup since 1991.
In the United States of America in 1999, they advanced to the quarterfinals.
The Senior Women National Team of Nigeria has been tasked by Distinguished Senator (Mrs.) Oluremi Tinubu CON, the wife of the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Federal Republic, to unite their efforts, talents, and skills in order to dominate at the 9th FIFA Women's World Cup finals, which begin in Australia and New Zealand in 18 days.
Distinguished At a Send-Forth dinner organized for the nine-time African champions on Saturday at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, less than 24 hours before the team was scheduled to leave Nigeria's borders for a 15-day training camp in Australia before the world event, Senator Tinubu issued this challenge.
"You are the pride and bright star of Africa. She addressed the audience in a speech that was delivered on her behalf by Dr. Betta Edu, the APC National Women Leader. "I charge you to go all out and do your very best to dominate other teams, and become the pride of the entire world," she added.
"I am pleased to note that our Super Falcons have stayed among the top football teams worldwide. Since the competition's inception in 1991, they have appeared in every single edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup finals, making our nation one of just seven in the world to have done so.
