The Governor of Jigawa state, Malam Umar Namadi, said that he reappointed some of the commissioners who worked during the time of the former governor of the state, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, because they were qualified.
During an interview with the BBC, Umar Namadi said that as the former governor worked with them, he also worked with them when he was the deputy governor and he knew the role they played in the former government.
"All these commissioners who are considered to have been reappointed who worked under the former governor, I also worked under me when I held the position of deputy governor, so I know everyone, I know what they will do, and I know what he cannot do''.
Since the announcement of the names of the new commissioners of the state, some have criticized the government saying that the names of the commissioners were dominated by the former officials of the previous government, instead of giving opportunities to some new faces.
