In three local governments in Borno state, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the administration of Borno state provided 494,498 persons between the ages of 9 months and 44 years with the opportunity to receive the yellow fever vaccine.


At the celebration of the Women and Child Health Workers (MNCH) in Maiduguri, the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Aminu Ghuluze, revealed this. He also said that the projects will take at least twelve days to manage and that they will significantly contribute to improving health and people's health.


The prevention programme will take place in health and temporary facilities in significant locations in the communities with the purpose of providing preventive measures against yellow fever, according to the Director General of the Health Commission at the first level of the state.


Dr. Ibrahim Audu Salisu, WHO's representative in Borno State, stated in his speech that "WHO is supporting the state to strengthen daily immunisation activities and support the community and the poor to be vaccinated against diseases." viral infections (VPDs).


In 13 wards in 3 local governments, including the most dangerous ones in Maiduguri (MMC), Jere, and Ngala local government, the Borno State Primary Health Care Agency (SPHDA) has successfully planned and is currently implementing a yellow fever vaccination programme for 494,498 people aged 9 months to 44 years.


The training of State and local government organisations, the distribution of vaccinations and supplies, public relations, etc., are just a few of the actions that have begun to be executed thanks to the tools that the WHO and SPHCDA have supplied and carried out.
