The governor of Darfur wants civilians to own weapons
Minni Arko Minnawi, the governor of western Sudan's Darfur region, has reaffirmed his appeal for residents to be armed for self-defense.
The call, according to Mr. Minnawi, a former rebel, is required in light of the current circumstances in the area.
