The pilgrim who gave back the 80,000 dollars she had amassed at the previous Hajj in Saudi Arabia has received recognition from Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal.

When Hajiya Aishatu of Guru Nahuce from Bungudu local government received 80,000 dollars, which is equal to N64,240,000 in Nigerian money, she gave it to the Zamfara Pilgrim Welfare Board officer so that they may return it to the owner.

Sulaiman Bala Idris, the state governor's spokesperson, made this disclosure in a paper that he signed in front of the media today in Gusau.

He claims that the Governor also expressed his delight over the support the state government provided for Hajiya Aisha's good deed in returning the money.

"Hajiya Aishatu has enhanced the reputation of our state and the nation as a whole in the eyes of the international community, and all the people of Zamfara state are pleased and ecstatic about what she has accomplished in Saudi Arabia.

Because no one can locate such enormous sums of money in the midst of nowhere and return them, we have seen a good and clear example of Hajiya Aisha who should be imitated.

The Zamfara state administration would therefore make every effort to assist the family of Hajiya Aisha.

Hajiya Aisha will also receive recognition from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for her honourable work.

When introducing Hajiya Aisha earlier, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, the Emir of Bungudu, stressed that her choice had earned the respect of the whole Zamfara population.

Hajiya Aisha acknowledged her appreciation for Saudi Arabia's kindness up to this point.
