The Kano Government Will Investigate The Wages Of Kano Employees
Alhaji Baba Halilu Dantiye, the information commissioner, Alhaji Usman Bala, the chief of staff of Kano State, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, and others have moved to clarify the suspension of the wages of 10,000 state employees.
According to LEADERSHIP, the 10,000 government workers who were fired by the Abdullahi Ganduje administration have had their paychecks frozen by the Kano state government under Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The chief of staff stated yesterday at a press conference held at the office of the information commissioner that the decision to stop paying salary was made in accordance with the norms and regulations of the employees.
He claims that a few months after the former governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, finished his term in office, a high committee was established to look into the legitimacy of papers and the procedures and methods utilised in hiring employees.
Usman Bala stated that there will be no issues with returning the wages to the employees whose performance has been evaluated and verified, particularly those who have been discovered to be in possession of legitimate identification and not those employed for reasons of honour or any other kind.
He stated in his testimony that "those who are not qualified or those who got the job through some biassed and arbitrary means will be shown the way to leave." He added that the government would not permit the destruction of the system of government employment.
