The Lagos government will spend 61 million for the people who died in the END SARS protests

Now, the public is still in disbelief over the Lagos state government's decision to agree to pay 61 million naira and 200,000 naira for a lavish funeral for 103 people who passed away in 2020 as a result of the ENDSARS protest that erupted in the state.

Remember that the state administration and the national army have access to the inquiry committee's findings, which reveals that on October 20, 2020, when the soldiers opened fire, there was a massacre in the Lekki Toll Gate region.

However, according to a letter from the Lagos State Government Contracts Authority dated this month's 19th, the state government has contracted with a business called Tos Funeral Ltd. to handle the burial of 103 deceased people for a fee of 61 million and 200 thousand naira.

Even though the government and authorities have denied that there was a massacre there, the letter has stirred up debate among people, particularly those who are struggling, demonstrating their disapproval of the move.

On the other hand, in response to the public outcry over the release of sizable sums of money to bury the dead, the Lagos State Government has issued a statement.

According to a statement made last night by Dr. Olusegun Ogboye, secretary general of the Lagos State Ministry of Health, none of the 103 fatalities were discovered near the Lekki Toll Gate.

Additionally, he claimed that the state government had agreed to arrange a large funeral service for the deceased at the same time, three years later. Family members and friends of those who had been missing during the protest were invited, but nobody went to visit his brother or any of his other relatives who had been missing due to the protest.
