The new calculation of the fees that the high school students of 'Unity Schools' will pay


The Nigerian Ministry of Education has increased the cost of 18 products by more than 100%, and students enrolled in federal government schools are expected to pay these costs in the first semester.


The federal secondary schools, also known as Unity Schools, now charge a fee that ranges from 45,000 to 100,000 naira nationwide.


More details on the increase in the cost of the school were provided in a statement from Hajiya Binta Abdulkadir's office, the director general of the department of secondary schools in the Nigerian Ministry of Education.


The first semester of this year will mark the beginning of the school fee.


What the hike will mean for students is as follows: Free of charge


N30,000 is the dormitory charge for boarders.


N25,000 (from Jss1 to SS1) is the standard charge.


Textbooks cost N15,000


Fee for textbooks: N5,000 (paid annually)

Potential: N1,000


One-time, N1,000 security cost


Identity Card: N1,000


Paper Goods: N1,000


Fee for clubs and associations: N1,000.


Athletics: N1,000


Medical: N2,000


Training in a trade: N1,000


Resources: N2,000

Even just a few days ago, some of the nation's colleges announced a rise in tuition costs, some by as much as 100%.
