The NPP will begin screening candidates for the presidency of Ghana

Ghana's ruling party said that it would choose ten candidates for the position of president.

The committee in Ghana that assesses the NPP party's candidates for office has said that it will begin doing so on July 3, 2023, the first day of the 2023 presidential election.

Mr. Evans Nimako, the committee secretary, made this announcement in a statement.

According to the Ghana News Agency, 10 of the 11 candidates who purchased the form filled it out in order to run for office.

The former trade and industry minister Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, the vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and energy specialist Kwadwo Poku are among the candidates who are scheduled to appear before the committee on July 3.

On Tuesday, July 4, Boakye Kyeremanteng Agyarko, a former energy minister, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a former NPP secretary general, and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a representative for Assin Central, would all testify before the committee.

Then, on July 5th, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Dr. Owusu Afriyie, an economist and former minister of agriculture, and Joe Ghartey, a member of parliament for Essikado-Ketan, will be examined.

The examination would then be finished on Thursday by Francis Addai-Nimako, a former member of parliament representing Mampong.
