Uganda: 150 students were hospitalized due to food poisoning
On suspicion of food poisoning, at least 150 students from Nakanyonyi Secondary School in Uganda's Mukono District were taken to several hospitals.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala City Police, the kids began complaining of stomach aches on Wednesday after eating dinner.
The symptoms worsened and they began to experience frequent stomachaches after drinking the tea on Thursday, according to Owoyesigire.
He claimed that the patients received emergency care at Mukono General Hospital and Naggalama Hospital.
In order to pinpoint the precise source of the issue while the investigation is ongoing, samples from the victims' bodies have already been transferred to the government laboratory in Wandegeya, according to Owoyesigyire.
Lead can be put in the school tank where water was used to prepare the pupils' meals, it was discovered.
The majority of pupils in the school's boarding programme are the most negatively impacted.
