United agreed to release more than 47 million pounds to sign Andre Onana

Manchester United signed Inter Milan custodian Andre Onana for 47 million pounds and 2 hundred thousand euros.

United expects to complete the transfer and even travelled with him to the US for friendly matches to prepare for the season starting next month.

Onana, a 27-year-old Cameroonian, will replace David De Gea, who left the squad this week after 12 years, on a 5-year contract with a one-year option.

Erik ten Hag, the coach, wanted to bring in the custodian he coached at Ajex.

Onana will be United's second signing this season after Mason Mount from Chelsea for 55 million euros.
