We did not withdraw the former governors who provided them with security - the Police Force

The Nigerian Police has refuted claims that it has removed its agents who are tasked with defending a few former government officials.

The agency said in a statement that the claim should be disregarded since it is incorrect.

She said that the statement was signed by a Deputy Commissioner of Police with the rank of DCP, which by itself would prove that it was false because the ACP-rank Deputy Commissioner of Police should have signed.

According to the acting superintendent of the Nigerian Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, an inquiry will be done to determine who made the comment so that they can be punished.
